Our faculty's Physical Education and Sports Teaching Program hosted a meaningful event for students with special needs.

Within the scope of the Adapted Physical Education and Sports course, 4th-grade students provided basketball and wrestling training to the students of Burdur Şehit Hakan Aktürk Special Education Vocational School. The event was held in our sports halls under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Elif Top.

In the training, the basic techniques of basketball, such as dribbling, passing, and shooting, were taught to special needs students in a fun way. Similarly, wrestling training was given interactively, with practical applications of double leg takedown, single leg takedown, and sweeping techniques.

This special event offered a great professional experience opportunity for the students of the Teaching Department. Coming together with different disability groups and organizing activities tailored to their needs played an important role in developing their teaching skills. The students expressed their happiness in spending time with special needs children and stated that such practices are indispensable experiences for the teaching profession.

The students of Şehit Hakan Aktürk Special Education Vocational School expressed that they greatly enjoyed the event, wished to participate in similar events, and hoped for the continuation of such activities in the future.

We thank Prof. Dr. Elif Top and the teachers of Şehit Hakan Aktürk Special Education Vocational School for their great efforts in realizing this meaningful event.
